Corona induced social isolation is a condition of its own and Toronto based creatives Mingus New, Casey MQ, Andres Sierra and Brad Alle may have the cure. A virtual nightclub, @clubquarantine comes to life nightly at 9pm Eastern time as a queer focused online dance party.
With over 13,000 followers now, the Club Quarantine instagram page is a staple for Torontonians and others abroad in the global CORVID-19 pandemic.
Friday 20th march, the fourth day of their new endeavour, Andres (she/they) let us know the inner workings of this new movement and the people behind it over the phone. “I'm a recording artist, my friends are other artist as well, we have a comedian a digital artist, a producer and a signer”
“On the first day of having to be quarantined we just video chatted on instagram but instagram caps you at like 6 people, and we just wanted more people because we like to kiki, you know? Someone suggested zoom.”
“Its actually like a very corperate business apllication created, which you can do global conferences and meetings, and here we are tearing it up with a queer dance party like!”
